God Help The USA!!!

As Martin Luther King once said:
We shall have to repent in this generation, not so much for the evil deeds of the wicked people, but for the appalling silence of the good people.

"It's not the Mexicans that people fear,
but that we, as the richest, fattest,
most possession rich country in the world's history
might have to give up something in order to lend
a helping hand to our brothers and sisters!"

Some people just can't afford to wait the 13-22 year wait to enter legally, not because they refuse, not because they want to break our laws but because the living conditions won't allow them to.          Can we help them find an alternative?

Don't say "it's not my responsibility"...all of us as Gods children, it is our responsibility!!!

**Sadly we are more interested in what antics Paris Hilton or Britney Spears will do next. Who Jessica Simpson or Lindsay Lohan are dating, who will be the next American Idol or Next Top Model, who the latest celebrity is to get intoxicated and make racist comments and check into rehab...while there are families struggling to stay together and not knowing where their next meal will come from...and that goes for all races. What has happened to this world???

The cost of the Iraq war could top $2 trillion!!

How can we spend Billions, even trillions rebuilding Iraq?
But turn away our neighbors?

Every single week, the American people spend $2 billion in Iraq, plenty of it for schools and hospitals and electricity for Iraqis. Their oil money hasn't paid for reconstruction. We have. And we are turning our backs on people here in the U.S who just want a better life and WILL pay taxes if given the chance. Do the math!!! Who is costing us more?

Too many people along both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border live in poverty, without access to adequate housing, sanitation, clean water, medical care, and living-wage employment opportunities. Hundreds die each year crossing the border along dangerous offroad routes trying to escape these conditions in hopes of a "Better" life!

WHY are they coming here illegally ?

*BECAUSE= The government is taking 13 years , to review applications:

                13 YEARS ???

According to USCIS they are just now reviewing applications recieved in March 1994!!!

**So for all you that say that they won't come here "the right way" this is the reason.

We Americans put in an application, place an order etc...and are ticked off if it takes 2-4 weeks!!!

Please think of how long we are asking them to wait , 13 years...and this is just reviewing an application, who knows how long they take for approval...Ask again why they come illegally!

EXAMPLE: A Petition for Alien Relative: Form I-130 Filing Fee : $190.00

*A citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States may file this form to establish the relationship to certain alien relatives who wish to immigrate to the United States. Filing and approval of an I-130 is only the first step in helping a relative immigrate to the United States. Eligible family members must wait until there is a visa number available before they can apply for an immigrant visa or adjustment of status to a lawful permanent resident. ~AND THIS IS IF YOU ALREADY HAVE FAMILY WHO ARE LEGAL HERE~

How long would you wait to find a way to feed your children, give them running water, medical care, education, clothing, a life...?

*Remember, in the next life it could be you being born on the other-side of the immigration fence....

~All i am saying is, the illegal immigrants that are here are not criminals in the same way as a bank robber, a murderer, a rapist etc...They come to escape conditions beyond their control, Hurricanes & Earthquakes that have left them homeless and living in filthy, germ infested conditions. Whats done is done, so let them pay a fine, start paying taxes, (imagine how much money you would get ) be documented so we know who they are, and we can know if they are committing crimes, abusing the welfare system, "freeloading"..etc and then we can deport the ones who really shouldn't be here, the ones that ARE a drain on society..Not deport them all, just so they can come back "illegally" again and we are in the same predicament that we started with. And the government has to do something with the length of time it is taking to get to the applications, 13 years is too long, it has to be done or this will never end. ~

Fact:  Only 65,000 H-1B visas are issued each year, and demand has been so high recently that all of them are taken instantaneously -- mostly with tech workers from India and China.

An estimated 500,000 green-card applications are pending nationwide. Source  www.uscis.gov

How much will it cost to try to deport them?

*In July 2005, the Center for American Progress published a report
assessing the costs of arresting, detaining, prosecuting, and deporting illegal aliens, estimating that the total cost of mass deportation would be between $206 and $230 billion over five years or an average cost of between $41 and $46 billion annually over a five year period.
~This does not include the cost of how much it will cost when their families are forced to go on welfare, when businesses can no longer afford to operate because the customers are no longer there to spend the money, when employers are forced to pay higher wages, pay overtime and holiday pay and provide benefits (Medical,Dental,Vision,401K,Life Insurance) to the "legals" ...Do the math..is it really going to make your life so much better?

And do not be mistaken, they will try to return and it will be their blood on your hands

*Don't forget that thousands of illegal immigrants also come in from Asia, Europe, Africa, and the UK --

Enhanced border security will, at best, do little to reduce the overall number of illegal immigrants living in the U.S. Why? Because even as it pares the entry of illegals, it slows the flow of illegal immigrants leaving the United States

The most comprehensive investigation of this phenomenon, conducted by University of Arizona Professor Manuela Angelucci, finds that each additional border patrol agent hired:

Stops roughly 771 to 1,621 individuals from entering the country illegally.

Encourages roughly 831 to 1,966 illegals already living here to extend their stay, for fear of being caught trying to exit or re-enter the country.

I am not Pro Illegal Immigration nor am I Pro open borders...but we have to treat these people like human beings and try to understand why they have decided to take such risks to come here. Put yourselves in their shoes, really ask yourselves the question, what would you risk to feed your children?

I know the concern is that we don't have room for everyone but remember "The Feeding Of The Five Thousand"

Matthew 14:15 And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals. 16 But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat. 17 And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes. 18 He said, Bring them hither to me. 19 And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. 20 And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full. 21
And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.

What would Jesus say to Americans about illegal immigration?
By Dan Jarvis

The political solutions to illegal immigration seem obvious to most thinking Americans: build a fence and patrol it with either the military or more border security, implement some form of guest worker program to allow the work of many to continue legally and enforce the laws we already have on the books regarding immigration, citizenship, etc.

However, as people who live in border states would be quick to tell you, things are a little more complex than most of us realize.

While we hope our leaders come up with a workable solution, I wonder what we as individuals should think about our "illegal" neighbors - people who may work hard, have families and hope for a bright future in America.
What would Jesus say to us about these people?

First, Jesus would remind us that we should love all people, legal or not. Just because a person isn't here on our terms, and though we may resent the overall principle of continued illegal immigration, we have to look at people as people: created in God's image for God's purpose and in need of God's love.

We aren't superior. We should never look down on immigrants, but "in humility consider others better than ourselves" (Phil. 2:3-4). Is that your attitude towards migrant workers? Loving our neighbors as we love ourselves doesn't stop at the border! Remember the Golden Rule? Do unto others what you would have them do unto you.

Second, Jesus would remind us that doing things for people in need is really our way of doing things for him. Jesus' parable of the "Sheep and the Goats" in Matthew 25 teaches that when we help needy people, we are rewarded as if we helped Jesus himself. Helping illegals in need does present an interesting legal dilemma for Christians, especially if the "help" we offer enables them to continue breaking the law.

What if helping illegals becomes illegal in itself? At that time, I suppose we will need to seek God's wisdom and do the right thing, regardless of the consequences. What the "right thing" would actually be is an interesting thought to chew on.

Third, Jesus would surely remind us that we must be a light to all nations. That's the whole reason we're still on earth today. Immigration (legal or not) presents an incredible opportunity to share the truth of the Bible with people across the world.

Think about it: churches spend millions of dollars a year to send people overseas to share the truth about Jesus, but through immigration people from other nations are moving in next door!

If families come to America and hear about the love of God, they can pass that on to their friends back home, multiplying the effect of the gospel.
Regardless of whether we agree that these people should be allowed to remain in the country, why not make opportunities to befriend and share Christ with them while we have the chance?

In Exodus 22:21, God says to Israel, "Do not oppress foreigners in any way. Remember, you yourselves were once foreigners in the land of Egypt." (NLT) In Deuteronomy 10, God even declares that we must "show love" for foreigners. How relevant for Americans! Remember, our great-grandparents were "immigrants" at one time, seeking a better life for themselves and their children. Let's not lose that perspective.

~As a Christian who abides by God's laws which are higher than mans I see this as cruel & inhumane punishment. What has happened to compassion? What about basic human decency?~

Fact; The U.S. Hispanic population is now the nation’s largest minority group, someone needs to speak up for them. How is this any different than Martin Luther King Jr. fighting for the rights of African Americans?

If you are living like there is no God, you better be right!!!
